Meet Your Coach
Hey there! I’m Jessica Dowches-Wheeler (she/her), or Jessica DW for short. I’m an expert champagne-popper, horror movie fanatic, Birman cat mama, and mentor for women coaches and consultants who are ready to build the confidence they need to take their business to six-figures and beyond.
I’ve always been passionate about closing the gender pay gap and putting more money into the hands of women.
I work with bright, talented, capable women every day. Women who are burned out from the capitalistic structures of traditional work environments. Women who were forced to quit their high-paying jobs so they can take care of their children. Women who work more than 40 hours each week and earn a six-figure salary and still live paycheck-to-paycheck.
And I used to be one of those women.
I worked in male-dominated environments where my ideas and opinions were constantly questioned. I was the youngest person on the leadership team and one of the only women. I always felt like an outsider, and I had to constantly fight for my seat at the table. Actually, I always brought my own damn seat, because no one ever put one out for me.
During a painful salary negotiation for a promotion, my boss (a high-ranking woman leader) told me she didn’t believe in the gender pay gap. She went on to personally attack me for advocating for myself, calling me selfish and aggressive.
I became a coach because I wanted a better life for myself and for the women around me. I never want another woman to hear the words, “entitled,” “arrogant,” “selfish,” or “aggressive.”
I realized that the traditional workplace that many of us are used to is exactly what’s causing our impostor syndrome. Not to mention the fleeting benefits, lack of flexibility, covert sexism, racism, and misogyny, and limited opportunities for growth.

What kind of time commitment are we looking at?
Ignite Your Impact is a 12-month program with weekly calls and lessons to complete. The weekly group calls are 90 minutes each, and the lessons may take up to 60 minutes to review. There are also optional practice sessions and office hours available each week. All said, expect to spend between 6-8 hours each week on this program.
What do I have to do to graduate?
Glad you asked! This is a certification program, so to earn your certification, you’ll need to:
Attend a minimum of 60 hours of training calls. You may miss up to 6 sessions over the course of 12 months. All absences must be excused in advance.
Complete 10 hours of mentor coaching by participating in Round Robin coaching sessions (7); and providing recorded coaching sessions (3)
Submit three recorded coaching sessions for written feedback
Complete written mid-term and final exams with a passing grade of 70% or higher
What if I need additional support?
We’re here for you! In addition to the weekly group calls where you can ask questions and get direct feedback on your coaching, we also provide weekly office hours for specific questions, and peer practice sessions to continue practicing your skills. If you need specific accommodations, let’s talk!
What if I don’t complete the program?
If you have a life event that causes you to leave the program before earning your certification, you will have the opportunity to join again in a future cohort to complete your graduation requirements. You may make up missing requirements and receive your full certification within 6 months of your original graduation date.
What if I need a refund?
This is a 12-month commitment. No refunds will be given, and the contract may not be cancelled. If you leave the program early, payments will continue. If you do not complete graduation requirements, no refund will be given.
